Sebastian Vettel has struggled to perform so far this season and the Ferrari driver has been critical on the Pirelli tyres. Mario Isola was asked why Vettel has struggled on the Pirelli rubber and he replied that he didn't think the German had been struggling.

The Pirelli chief believes that Vettel has not had specific problems with the tyres. He thinks that Vettel has had more trouble with different things and that the tyres are not necessarily responsible for that.

"Understeer is also related to car tuning," Isola said to F1Technical.net. "In general, the intermediate tires in Germany went pretty well. We had changing conditions throughout the race for two hours." Vettel came in second in the race, without having too much trouble with the tyres. Isola uses this as evidence for Vettel not struggling with the rubber.

"The intermediate tires are designed to work with water on the circuit. If there is a dry line, the tires wear very quickly. After the race, we analyzed all the tires and they were worn out, but in good condition.

"The same applies to rain tyres. If you use extremely wet tyres in dry conditions, they also wear very quickly. I don't think Sebastian had specific problems with the intermediate tyres."

Vettel will hope to get more comfortable with his car and the tyres after the summer break.
