Hamilton will stay in F1 until there's nothing left to win
Lewis Hamilton is showing no signs of slowing down and the five-time World Champion has insisted there is still more for him to do in the sport as he prepares to seal a third straight title.
Hamilton holds a 62 point advantage of his teammate Valtteri Bottas in the Drivers' Championship as we approach the start of the second half of the season. The Brit has won eight of 12 races this season to cement his place at the top of the World Championship and is odds on to see it out and win a sixth World Championship.
With Hamilton two behind Michael Schumacher's record of seven titles, it looks as if he is targeting that figure admitting he has no plans to retire whilst there are still things to win.
“One day I will have to stop, but right now I feel fantastic physically and mentally,” Hamilton told Sky Sports.
“I don’t currently have any plans of stopping soon. There’s more to do, there’s more to win, there’s more to achieve together, inside and outside of the car.”
Hamilton has won four of his five titles at Mercedes and he is looking to extend their relationship and success.
“It’s been a phenomenal journey [at Mercedes]. I think right now I’m just excited to see what more we can do together and what’s next," he added.
