Franz Tost recharging batteries before second half push
Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost has been reflecting on the team's opening half of the season and has vowed to keep working hard in the second half of the season, as he targets a fifth-place finish in the Constructors' Championship.
Both Alex Albon and Daniil Kvyat have impressed at times this season with their best results being P6 and P3 respectively at the frantic German Grand Prix. Toro Rosso currently sit fifth in the Constructors' standings with 43 points, four ahead of Renault. However, they are 39 points down on the midfield leaders, McLaren so they will be aiming to consolidate fifth place when the season restarts after the summer break.
With the summer break now in swing, Tost wants the team to keep on pushing in the second half of the season but is letting them have a couple of weeks off to recharge.
"We will continue to work hard to close the gap to our direct opponents. We can do that in the second half of the season," Tost said as quoted by Speedweek.
"A big thank you to the whole team for their dedicated work. Now we charge our batteries for two weeks."
