"Give me normal races instead of those in Germany"
Andreas Seidl has been with McLaren for a few months. In those few months, McLaren's results have improved significantly and they now lead the 'best of the rest' battle comfortably. According to many in the garage, he provides a good structure that ensures a high level of performance.
"We are working on some improvements, but realistically I can't do much in three months of course," Seidl told Ziggo Sport.
"We think clarity and transparency are important. That is why we have also extended Norris and Sainz because they work perfectly in our situation. They understand that it is not about their duel, but they work hard to help us move forward."
McLaren has a 31-point over rivals Renault who are two places down. Toro Rosso is sandwiched between the two after last week's podium. Seidl is hoping for less crazy races during his time at McLaren.
"We are already in good shape, so you would rather not have crazy races. You see it in Hockenheim. If Hulkenberg picks up a P2 there and we don't finish, then we suddenly talk very differently here. We do well on every circuit, so let those races run normally," Seidl added.
