Timo Glock supports Sebastian Vettel: "He has to find his own way"
Sebastian Vettel has faced plenty of criticism since the British Grand Prix. The German driver returns home this weekend, but his build-up hasn't been easy. Many ex drivers have suggested Vettel should take a year sabbatical, or even finish Formula 1 for good. But Timo Glock has stood up for his fellow countryman.
"As a person, you can only do it yourself. Advice is rather boring. He can find his own way," Glock told Speedweek.
“It may just be that the expectations are somewhat higher than the actual results. Then it just doesn't work so smoothly for a while. So wait until the weather improves. But if it was that easy..."
Valtteri Bottas might be pushed out of Mercedes at the end of the 2019 Formula 1 season. Bottas himself has hinted that he'd like to move to Ferrari if he gets the chance. It might be at Vettel's expense and Glock doesn't think that'll be a bad thing for the four-time world champion.
"I think so. We have seen several times in the past that something like that can help. For example, Lewis Hamilton's move from McLaren to Mercedes," Glock added.
