McLaren believes Renault will play it fair for 2019 "best of the rest" showdown

With Renault being McLaren's engine supplier, things could get pretty complicated when it comes to the two teams battling each other for "best of the rest" supremacy.
However, McLaren team boss Andreas Seidl has no doubt whatsoever that Renault will keep things fair when it comes to his team, stating the two teams have a "very good, healthy relationship".
"It definitely looks like that the main battle in the midfield will be between us and Renault," Seidl said. "In the end now it depends on continuously bringing updates, learning more about the car, and execution of races.
"I've said already before we have a very good, healthy relationship with Renault. It's very transparent. The step Renault made from last year to this year is also one of the reasons why we could make this step with the car.
"So there is full confidence in the partnership we are having. And also purely from the regulation side, there is a clear rule that main team and customers get the same material and power modes."
As it stands, in the constructors' standings; McLaren are boasting fourth-place - sitting nicely with 60 points - whilst Renault (in fifth-place) are on 39 points. Alfa Romeo are on 26 a place below, with SportPesa Racing Point, Toro Rosso, Haas and Williams making up the places below them.
