Valtteri Bottas has insisted he and the drivers are happy to help when it comes to picking what tracks are good for the sport, admitting they "have a feeling" when it comes to knowing what tracks are good.

This comes in the wake of Silverstone and Albert Park renewing their contracts with Formula 1 until 2024 and 2025 respectively. The sport has been criticised for being unexciting and many believe certain tracks are at fault for this.

Bottas joined his teammate Lewis Hamilton in his criticism of the selection process and believes the drivers should be given more responsibility when it comes to picking what tracks should feature on the calendar.

“From our side, it’s not that nice. We love racing. Everyone loves good racing, so that’s how it should be," Bottas told Motorsport.com.

“Like Lewis said, as the GPDA [Grand Prix Drivers Association], we’re very keen to give our input because we’re in the car.

“We know exactly which type of tracks we need to have good racing. We have the feeling.

“So we are very, very happy to help.”
