Vettel should change teams but there is "no way for 2020"
Sebastian Vettel should leave Ferrari else there is no way he can continue his F1 career. That is the view of Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko following the British Grand Prix, which saw Vettel finish 16th.
Vettel has struggled for form all season and has made mistakes in several high-pressure situations. In Canada, he ran onto grass and almost forced Lewis Hamilton into the wall. he was given a five-second time penalty. At Silverstone last weekend he crashed into Max Verstappen, spinning both of them out. He was subsequently given a ten-second time penalty and finished in P16.
Marko worked with Vettel from 2007 until 2014, whilst the German driver was at Toro Rosso and Red Bull. Marko believes Vettel needs a change of scenery and suggested he is making mistakes because he is no longer sure of himself.
"You make mistakes when you are no longer sure of yourself,” Helmut Marko told Auto Bild.
“It happens in the subconscious.
“Sebastian would have to be in a different environment. In order words, change the team, but I see no way for 2020.”
