Horner: Verstappen's contract speculation was "purely speculation"
In the build-up to the Austrian Grand Prix, there was talk about Max Verstappen leaving Red Bull earlier by using clauses in his contract. Despite this doubt, Christian Horner is confident Verstappen will still be inside a Red Bull car for the 2020 Formula 1 season.
Following the race, Horner expressed his confidence to the press. “The contract between a driver and his team will always remain confidential, but it is safe to say that every driver in the sport probably has clauses in his contract. There has been speculation about Max's contract, but that was purely speculation."
Verstappen won the race around the Red Bull Ring, and Horner hopes events like this will keep coming in order for the Dutchman to continue to trust the project Red Bull is on.
“The team is very happy, he believes in the project and days like this will all reinforce that. I have no doubts about Max," Horner added.
