Sainz will start from the back of the grid for the Austria Grand Prix
Carlos Sainz will start the Austrian Grand Prix from the back of the grid after McLaren fit the new Renault B-spec engine. McLaren recorded one of their best finishes for five years last weekend.
Sainz picks up the penalty because it's his fourth engine of the season. His first engine caught fire during the opening weekend in Australia.
Team boss Andreas Seidl said the team were trying to work out when was best to fit the new engine to limit the number of penalties later in the season.
Toro Rosso driver Alex Albon will also get a new engine this weekend. He will get a 15 place penalty because the new Honda engine puts him over the limit with just two components. Max Verstappen, Pierre Gasly and Daniel Kvyat all received their new Honda engine in France.
