Nico Hulkenberg hopes for "strong race pace" at Austrian Grand Prix
Nico Hulkenberg is preparing for a hot Austrian Grand Prix and hopes that he can continue his impressive race pace over from last weeks French Grand Prix. Renault upgraded their car last weekend and hope that after a few teething issues they will get the full benefit over the next couple of days. Preparation has gone well and a points finish is on the table for Hulkenberg.
"It's pretty toasty!" Hulkenberg said to the Official F1 Website. "It's going to be a sweaty weekend. We'll see how it goes."
"There's always stuff when you've put things on. Some things were good and some weren't as good as they could have been so it's a work in progress.
"On balance, qualy was a bit of a surprise that we were lacking a bit of pace but our race pace was pretty strong again."
At the French Grand Prix Hulkenberg was involved in the dramatic last lap which saw him gain a few places. He explained why these things often happen on the last lap.
"The last lap was dynamic and interesting. There was some close battling there. It was good to get some points on the board.
"As we push the car through the race we lose grip and that's why often these things happen at the end of the race."
Hulkenberg will hope to get in the points again and will be targetting Q3 in Saturday's qualifying session after missing out last weekend.
