Vettel the "optimist" is "looking forward" despite last weekends poor performance
Sebastian Vettel is "looking forward" after a disappointing run of races and hopes that he can put things right this weekend at the Austrian Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver knows that Mercedes are the favorites once again but knows that come race day anything can happen and will be ready waiting if the Silver Arrows make a mistake.
After a poor run of results Vettel is staying positive.
"I don't look back I look forward," Vettel said to the Official F1 website. "If I was to just look back then I would see that the last few races haven't looked good for us. We just didn't have the pace. That's not the way I function. I look forward. I know this team is strong and I know that there's plenty of ideas and things we are planning to update our car with. Hopefully, we can turn things around."
Ferrari are yet to win a race this season and Vettel will be desperate to set things straight at this Grand Prix after a poor performance last weekend.
Despite Vettel's optimism, he knows that it will be a struggle to beat Mercedes.
"I'm not stupid. I know that time is passing and we are not ahead of Mercedes. I'm an optimist and I look forward to racing and I believe that on Sunday anything can happen. We'll see what happens this Sunday for a start. We have some bits to try on Friday and we will learn a little bit more from last weekend and we'll just have to see where we are."
