Daniel Ricciardo given two time-penalties for French GP last lap drama
Daniel Ricciardo has been given two-five second-time penalties for his two overtakes on the final lap of the French Grand Prix, dropping him from P7 to eleventh.
In a dramatic final lap, Ricciardo overtook Lando Norris who was struggling with hydraulic issues but was forced off the track and was seen to have gained an advantage when he rejoined. He was then overtaken by Kimi Raikkonen as he tried to keep up before retaking the place at turn ten.
The stewards have ruled that the moves were illegal, and he was given two five-second time-penalties meaning he drops from P7 to P11. Pierre Gasly finished eleventh and benefits with a point as he moves up to tenth.
