The 2019 Indy 500
The world of motorsport turns its attention to Indianapolis and the Brickyard for the legendary Indy 500 race. 200 miles of Indianapolis Motor Speedway separates one of the 33 world class drivers from a famous victory. A part of motorsport's fabled 'Triple Crown', the race is one of the biggest in the world and Fernando Alonso's pursuit of the feat took him to IndyCar in search of a win. However, an embarrassing number of failures meant McLaren missed out on the 2019 race in qualifying, eliminated on Bump Day along with Red Bull junior Patricio O'Ward and ex-Marussia F1 driver, Max Chilton.
What time does the Indy 500 start?
The green flag will drop at 12:45pm ET or 5:45pm BST. Make sure you are right here if you can't watch to keep up with all the action!
