Shock! Charles Leclerc eliminated in Q1 in Monaco!
- Nicolás Quarles van Ufford
Ferrari star Charles Leclerc has failed to make it to Q2 at his home Grand Prix of Monaco, with the 21-year-old being eliminated in Q1 as he only managed to put in the 16th quickest time.
While all eyes were focussed on his teammate Sebastian Vettel, who had to come out last-minute to improve on his time to make it to Q2, Leclerc was dropping like a stone in the table.
He didn't come out for a final run, and had made a mistake in the last run he did, making his time very beatable for midfield drivers. He had to go to the weighbridge as well, taking away more time for the Monegasque.
And so, in the weekend where Leclerc was supposed to announce himself to the world with a dominant display, his weekend is as good as over now. It's close to impossible to overtake in Monaco, and starting from P16 will likely mean he'll finish far away from the podium. Shocking!
