Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto believes that his team are still very much in the competition for the Championship despite their slow start to the season. Mercedes have been the dominant team so far winning every race with a one-two so far but Ferrari look set to make a comeback.

"The goal is always to understand the weak points and improve," Binotto said to La Gazzetta dello Sport. "We will have to push with some choices and be more aggressive in the development, but it is normal to do so.

"The spirit in the team is excellent, we want to do well, and we work in a united way," he continued. "We were hoping to be more competitive at the start of the season, but there are still 17 races left. Are we still in the running for the world championship? Of course.

"We do not make calculations but proceed race by race," Binotto concluded.

Ferrari look fast and clearly have the ability to get back into the competition this year. Fans will hope that this does happen and that we see a real competition at the end of the season.
