Alfa Romeo explain Giovinazzi's issues so far
From the outside, it seems as if Alfa Romeo’s new driver Antonio Giovinazzi has struggled to adapt to the demands of a full time F1 race seat, but Alfa team principal Frederic Vasseur believes it’s more down to the team than the Italian.
Giovinazzi has failed to score a point, with teammate Raikkonen already racking up 12.
Vasseur has tried to take some pressure off of his new driver by saying: Antonio so far couldn’t show his real potential, but that’s completely down to the team.”
“Some technical issues and therefore missed track time meant that he could never get comfortable and get the best out of the car, but especially in Australia in Q1 he showed how fast he is. Everyone just needs to be a bit patient and I’m sure he’ll come around.”
