Lewis Hamilton cracked a joke at the press conference when asked about his collaboration with Charles Leclerc. Instead of addressing his own performance right away, he took a different approach. Hamilton also gave a professional answer, praising Leclerc for his work ethic.

Lewis Hamilton has now spent a few months working with Charles Leclerc, and during the press conference, he was asked what had surprised him most about his new teammate. "Beside his great hair? And his eyes? He’s a good-looking lad!" Hamilton's response was met with laughs from members of the media.

Hamilton left surprised by Leclerc's work ethic

A serious response from the Ferrari driver also followed. "I would say his work ethic. It's been really impressive. I didn’t know, Naturally, you don't know what happens behind closed doors. I think every driver works really hard, but everyone has a different approach to their ultimate performance. It's been really interesting to see.

The Brit compared Leclerc's approach to his own, where he can find a few similarities. "It's not too dissimilar to mine. You just see a hardworking kid getting on with it. He's obviously been in the team a long time. It's his second team, but he's had this amazing time at Ferrari. He is very much Mr. Ferrari. It's been really cool to work alongside him, and I'm really looking forward to working alongside him for the year." Hamilton concluded.

The seven-time world champion's first race weekend with Ferrari gets underway tomorrow with two Free Practice sessions in Australia. The first session begins at 1:30 AM GMT, and you can follow all the action from the season-opening weekend here on GPblog.
