Outside F1, would Max Verstappen be a street fighter or cat breeder?

If Max Verstappen had not become a Formula 1 driver, he could easily have been a street fighter, a cat breeder or a player for the Dutch national football team. Those are just some of the professions his fellow drivers suggested when asked the question.

Prior to the F1 75 Live event at the O2 Arena in London, the drivers and team bosses spoke to the media on the red carpet. Several drivers were asked what career path they think Verstappen would have chosen if he were not a racing driver.

Lando Norris clearly does not envisage Verstappen not racing. "Um... What on earth would Max be doing? He'd be in Amsterdam somewhere," the McLaren driver said after thinking about Sport Bible's question for a moment.

Verstappen's new teammate at Red Bull Racing, Liam Lawson, also has no idea, so he asks Geri Halliwell-Horner, wife of team boss Christian Horner. "I think he would be a boxer," says the former Spice Girl, a suggestion Lawson can endorse. "I think he would be good at that," says the New Zealander.

George Russell, Zak Brown and Carlos Sainz also see Verstappen doing martial arts. They would see the four-time world champion achieve success as a street fighter, MMA fighter and wrestler, respectively. Valtteri Bottas is looking in a different corner: he thinks Verstappen would play for the Dutch football team.

Verstappen's former teammate Alexander Albon is perhaps closest to the truth. "He would be a cat breeder. He loves cats," states the Williams driver, who is a big cat lover himself and even has a dedicated Instagram account for his four-legged friends.
