2024 was not Red Bull Racing's easiest season. The Austrian team suffered with correlation issues between their simulation tools and real on-track performance since early on in the season leading to their defeat in the Constructors' championship to McLaren and Ferrari. However, Red Bull chief, Christian Horner, is confident his team has had a "good winter" ahead of the start of the 2025 season.

"Max Verstappen, winner of the 2024 Drivers' title", the record books will read. However, for the people who saw how the season played out, they will know that it was anything but easy, given McLaren's form. Red Bull Racing's 2024 car, the RB20, carried on with issues that had stemmed from its dominant predecessor, the RB19, as Adrian Newey, former Red Bull designer has recently stated, and Horner himself has agreed with.

Have the Milton Keynes-based outfit managed to solve the performance limiting issues that hindered their 2024 season? "I'll tell you next Friday," says Horner ahead of the F1 75 Live event to media present, including GPblog.

Has Red Bull fixed the RB20's issues?

"The team have worked very hard over the winter to work on some of the vices of RB20," adds the Briton acknowledging last year's car's limitations. "I think we've had a good winter and the team has been working incredibly hard. We'll get the first indication next week as to have we managed to address some of the issues."

In the home stretch of the 2024 season, particularly with the modifications made for the Brazilian Grand Prix, the Austrian team managed to recover some of its previously lost form. "We managed to improve them during the course of the latter third of last year. We'll see if we've managed to go a step further over these early races." However Red Bull were still unable to find consistency in the final races of 2024, with the team being off the pace in the Sprint race in Qatar, Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi.
