'Hamilton already feels better at Ferrari than Mercedes'
Lewis Hamilton has not yet driven a metre in the SF-25, but his feeling in Ferrari 's cars is already said to be better than at Mercedes. So reports Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport.
'Hamilton feels better in the Ferrari than the Mercedes'
Hamilton's much-discussed debut for the Scuderia consisted of a TPC (testing previous cars) at the Fiorano circuit near Maranello, followed by a test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. There, the 40-year-old Briton also completed a test programme for Pirelli together with his new teammate Charles Leclerc, designed to test the new compounds for 2026. They did so in the SF-24, Ferrari's F1 car from last year.
According to the Italian medium, Hamilton felt good in the cars and reportedly praised the handling. In fact, he would have immediately felt better in the cars than the last few Mercedes challengers he was used to driving. He is also said to have already felt so confident in the car in his first test at Fiorano that he was "trying out different things" on the track, rather than simply completing his laps.
The next Ferrari appearance for Hamilton is scheduled for 18 February. That is when all 10 teams will unveil their new livery for the 2025 season in front of tens of thousands of fans at the O2 Arena in London. Ferrari will also show a render of the SF-25. A day later, Ferrari will hold its own car presentation at its home base in Maranello, after which Hamilton and Leclerc will make their first meters in this year's car. They will then travel to Bahrain, where the winter test is scheduled from 26 to 28 February.
