Verstappen praised for special talent: 'Together with Red Bull he always succeeded'

Timo Glock, who raced in Formula 1 from 2004 to 2012, has shared his feelings on Max Verstappen and how he won his fourth world title. He pointed out one specific quality that he said allowed Verstappen to remain competitive even when the race weekend was difficult.
Ralf Schumacher knows what it takes to be considered one of the greats in Formula 1, since he is brother to F1 legend Michael Schumacher. R. Schumacher considers Verstappen to be above Lewis Hamilton because of what he showed in the 2024 season, since, in the German's view Verstappen did not have the fastest car and still brought home the world title, he has that "little bit extra", which Schumacher only sees in the greatest of drivers.
Glock praises Verstappen: 'That shows how good he is'
Glock also agrees with Schumacher. "I think that this year's performance was clearly convincing, and he is one of the greats, as Ralf just said. So if you think about what has happened since the middle of the season. The car is no longer really where it was in terms of performance. Where a McLaren started to dominate, Red Bull just fell away and drove home a bit cleverly in the end. Races like Brazil have shown what an incredible talent [he] is."
Red Bull was struggling more often than not. However, even with facing adverse circumstances, Verstappen still managed to finish high in the points. "He always managed to cleverly turn a weekend around with his engineering team and still get the most out of it, and when we think about how dominant McLaren was from a certain point onwards, I think they were happy that they were in Las Vegas also won the championship at the end. Ultimately clinched the championship in Las Vegas." Glock concluded to Sky Germany.
