Toto Wolff on Horner's comment about George Russell

Toto Wolff has brushed off Christian Horner's attempt to 'stir s**t up' during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend. The Red Bull boss publicly announced they are not ruling out a signing from outside the Red Bull Junior Team and named George Russell as a possible candidate for the future when his contract expires at Mercedes. Wolff says it's all part of the game.

Max Verstappen is under contract with Red Bull until 2028, and Perez signed a deal to extend his stay with the team earlier in the 2024 season. At VCARB, Daniel Ricciardo is expected to leave before the United States Grand Prix, but Yuki Tsunoda is tied down for the 2025 season. During the Singapore Grand Prix weekend, Horner expressed that the team are looking at their junior talent, including Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar.

Wolff isn't rattled by Horner's comment

The Red Bull Racing team boss also mentioned a notable name: George Russell. In fact, the Briton has a contract until 2025 and is therefore free on the market after that. Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff is not bothered by Horner's remark. "Christian is always trying to stir the s**t up," Wolff said

Following this comment, which included a swear word, the Austrian was asked whether he fears community service. "This is an excrement," Wolff replied. "It's very natural. It's not like having interaction with someone, but it's like going to the toilet. I think I would have a good argument with the stewards."

"So to come back to your point, I think he's just always doing the shit of his part. It's part of the game. George is a Mercedes driver, has been forever, and hopefully will be forever. We are comfortable," Wolff said.
