After the regulation change of 2014, Mercedes disappeared into the distance, and Hamilton was able to defeat Nico Rosberg all three times from 2014 until 2016 for the victory at Silverstone, although Rosberg was still ahead of Hamilton on track when he had to retire because of an issue with his gearbox. Hamilton then also made it for wins in a row at 2017. After only finishing in P2 in 2018 because Kimi Räikkönen spun him around on Lap 1, Hamilton claimed victory once again in 2019 comfortably ahead of Valtteri Bottas.

Eventful final three victories

The two Mercedes cars stayed out, with Bottas suffering from a puncture, and the Finnish driver fell out of the points. Hamilton got a puncture on the final lap, with the Dutchman chasing him down. On three functioning tyres, Hamilton won the race by just less than six seconds ahead of Verstappen.

The Briton received a ten-second penalty for the incident, but still won the race ahead of Charles Leclerc. Hamilton then won in changeable conditions in 2024, once again ahead of Verstappen.
