Hamilton responds to Magnussen after incident in Miami sprint

Kevin Magnussen has taken full blame and accepted the penalty he received in his incident with Lewis Hamilton during the sprint race. Hamilton has since responded and explained how he enjoyed the duel with the Haas driver.

Magnussen pushed Hamilton off the track in the Miami sprint race. It was a bit of a reality check for the Mercedes driver, who would've historically glided past Magnussen easily due to a significant performance advantage. Instead, the two drivers had to engage in a duel. Hamilton lost out to Yuki Tsunoda in the process as well.

Hamilton understanding of Magnussen's actions

Hamilton reacted to the incident on the team radio during the sprint race itself. He expressed to his team how Magnussen pushed him off the track, but the seven-time World Champion is now more understanding.

"I think that's really honest for him and pretty cool. We had a good race. A little bit on the edge, but it's what I love. I love racing hard. I wasn't frustrated or anything. That's what you do to work as a team," Hamilton told Sky Sports.

Hamilton himself received a 20-second penalty during the sprint race. This penalty resulted in his loss of 8th place and the single point.
