Recently, the FIA president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, has received a lot of criticism for various reasons. The FIA has made public a letter in which 14 different European FIA members express their support for the president.

Mohammed Ben Sulayem has faced a lot of criticism in recent times. As president of the FIA, he is ultimately responsible for all decisions made by the FIA. One case that came in for a lot of criticism is that of Susie and Toto Wolff. They were investigated for a conflict of interest. After just one day, this investigation was dropped, which has caused some questions.

In addition, Sulayem was last in disrepute for allegedly interfering with the outcome of the 2023 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix. In the letter that the FIA has now made public, 14 different European FIA members expressed their support towards the president.

"As we all know, the FIA finds itself in uneasy situation with regard to current circumstance," the letter said. It speaks of third-party attacks towards the FIA. "These days, more than ever, it is important to stand united against attempts of some persons to weaken our organization by unfair and unfounded attacks led against the FIA highest governance bodies, in particular against yourself."

Addressing the letter to the president, the FIA members expressed their support. "We would like to assure you with our support in these uneasy and turbulent times. We appreciate your care dedicated to us, FIA member ASNs, and your listening to our needs."
