Horner overjoyed with Verstappen in P1 and Perez in P2: 'Amazing'
Max Verstappen has secured pole position for the Japanese Grand Prix. Sergio Perez recorded the second time and may start alongside Verstappen on the front row of the grid on Sunday. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is pleased with the performance of his two drivers, commenting on qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix.

The difference between Verstappen's time and Perez's time was very small, Horner also observed. "Yeah, very close, but great to have a front-row lockout, and it’s Checo's best-ever qualifying here, so really pleased to have both the cars on the front row and another stunning lap by Max," Horner told Viaplay after qualifying .
Horner thinks tyre degradation will play a big role in tomorrow's race, as will cooler conditions unlike Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Australia earlier this season. The Japanese Grand Prix promises to be exciting, the Red Bull team principal believes. "Well, I think we've understood those issues, but I think that the race here, we saw the race pace is more varied tomorrow and these cooler conditions, how the tyres behave is going to be a more challenging factor, but I'm sure it's going to be an interesting race, but glad to be starting on the front row," Horner concluded.
