Hill understands Leclerc's anger: 'They let him leave too late!'
Charles Leclerc was not exactly enjoying himself at the drop of the flag for FP2 in Japan. The Ferrari driver was not happy with the team's decision to go out so late. Damon Hill sees Leclerc's complaining and understands why the Monegasque driver is angry with the team. Ferrari should have let him go out earlier, Hill explained.
Leclerc considerably irritated according to Hill
Also because FP2 was washed away by the rain, this session was essential to still gather data for qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix. Leclerc got no further than the 10th time in the third practice session at Suzuka. The driver with number 16 on the car expressed his frustrations over the team radio.
"They've let him out too late and he's not been able to get his time in. I'm not sure whether that it was that or whether he couldn't get round to do a practice start," Hill told Sky Sports. "But anyway, he was very agitated and a bit cross with his team. And we've heard this before with Charles, I do wonder whether it's the driver could actually emphasise more with the team when they want to go out."
