Full Results FP3 | Verstappen much faster than competition in Japan
Max Verstappen ended the third free practice session for the Japanese Grand Prix as the fastest driver. Verstappen was over two tenths quicker than his teammate Sergio Perez. George Russell followed the Mercedes duo.
It looks like a Verstappen weekend in Japan. The Dutchman was already fastest in the first free practice and was fastest again during FP3. That Red Bull Racing have good cards for qualifying and the race was also shown by Perez's second place. The first non-Red Bull driver to follow only by more than three tenths is Russell.
Behind Russell is Lewis Hamilton, with two cars using a Mercedes power unit followed the works team. Fernando Alonso drove to P5 with Aston Martin's new upgraded package and Lando Norris was P6 after the session.
On the other hand, Ferrari drivers experienced some setbacks. Carlos Sainz finished seventh, six tenths behind Verstappen. For Charles Leclerc, it was even tougher. The Monegasque got no further than P10, eight tenths behind Verstappen.
