Full results FP2 Saudi Arabia | Alonso fastest, Verstappen third
- GPblog.com
The second free practice session in Saudi Arabia proved positive for Fernando Alonso. The start of practice was delayed ten minutes due to yet another problem with a driver cover. The session also went on for ten minutes longer than planned.
The first 15 minutes of the second practice session saw many drivers get in each others way. Among others, Lewis Hamilton obstructed Logan Sargeant, forcing him to report to the stewards after the session. During the mid-session qualifying run, Alonso was no less than five hundredths quicker than Max Verstappen, moving him to first place on the timesheet.
Then again, during the long runs, Red Bull was a bit better than the competition. Sergio Perez, in particular, drove a very flat session with tyres that were already quite old. Of course, the long runs are not on the timesheet because they are much slower than the qualifying runs. See the full results of the second practice session at the Middle East circuit here.
