Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff will continue to feature in motorsport's premier class until the end of 2026. The Vienna-based Austrian has indicated in an interview with The Telegraph that he has signed a contract. Wolff believes he is the best man to be team boss. Mercedes will continue in 2024 with drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

Wolff is keen to win. "At the end of the day, as a shareholder myself, I want the best return on investment. And the best return on investment is winning. I’m not going to try to hang on to a position that I think somebody is going to do better than me. I make sure that I have people around who can tell me otherwise," Wolff explained.

Wolff is not finished at Mercedes

So is Wolff overworked as a co-shareholder and head of the board? None of that is true. "The risk for me is always more 'bore-out' than burn-out," the Mercedes team boss says decidedly. "The risk for me is always more bore-out than burnout. And that’s why I embrace the challenges we have today, even though they sometimes feel very, very difficult to manage.”

Mercedes and Ferrari battled for second place in the constructors' championship until the last Grand Prix of the season, but Wolff's team eventually clinched the spot. Red Bull Racing were far out of sight partly because of Max Verstappen's performance. Can Mercedes challenge Red Bull this season, though?
