Initially, Max Verstappen was anything but enthusiastic about the Las Vegas Grand Prix, but after a wonderful Formula 1 race, the GP in the so-called 'Sin City' has managed to win the Red Bull Racing driver's heart after all. Team principal Christian Horner also says Verstappen has since adjusted his opinion of the event.

Verstappen now wowed by Las Vegas GP

In the run-up to the Las Vegas GP, there were some question marks over the track's layout, which was said to be not challenging enough. However, the opposite proved true in the first edition of the F1 race. "I thought it delivered a great Grand Prix today. The speeds around here are insane," Horner said in conversation with Sky Sports.

Whereas Verstappen was previously quite critical of the event and all the show surrounding it, he has since revised his opinion - at least on the sporting part. "That's the bit he loves... A race like that, he loved and revelled in a race like that. Even though he was on the end of a penalty and whatever, the way he came back, the way he fought, I think he might have changed his mind about Vegas," the Red Bull team principal continued.

For Red Bull, Verstappen's win marked yet another milestone. "To get an 18th win for Max, 20th victory overall for us. I thought Checo was brilliant today as well. Coming from a nose change, at the back of the field, coming through the lead of the race," he continued.

"So unlucky to lose out on second place, but nailing second place in the championship as well. It's been an amazing season for us, and today, he sort of summed up the kind of year that we've been having," Horner concluded.
