F1 Mexican Grand Prix qualifying result | Leclerc on pole, Verstappen third
Charles Leclerc captured pole position for the Mexican Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying session. Teammate Carlos Sainz will start Sunday's race from second place and Max Verstappen ended up third. Lando Norris was surprisingly eliminated early in qualifying.
Leclerc takes pole at the Mexican Grand Prix
Verstappen was fastest in all three free practice sessions but was beaten in qualifying by both Ferrari drivers. Daniel Ricciardo took a fantastic fourth place for AlphaTauri, and he is followed by Red Bull Racing driver Sergio Perez. Norris was eliminated early in qualifying. The McLaren driver did not make it through Q1 and even finished in 19th place.
