Lance Stroll has received a warning from the FIA Compliance Officer following his behaviour during the Qatar Grand Prix weekend. In turn, the Aston Martin Canadian has apologised.

In a statement, also sent to GPblog, the FIA says: "We can confirm that the FIA Compliance Officer has received an apology from Lance Stroll regarding his actions during the 2023 FIA Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix. The Compliance Officer has noted this apology and issued a written warning, reminding Lance of his responsibilities as a competitor bound by the FIA Code of Ethics and other FIA ethical and conduct guidelines set forth by the sporting regulations. The FIA maintains a zero-tolerance stance against misconduct and condemns any actions that may lead to physical harassment."

Stroll shows worst side

Stroll showed his worst side in the Qatar Grand Prix weekend. After a qualifying session that went dramatically for the Aston Martin driver, he threw his steering wheel out of the car, brushed aside a team employee and gave a harrowing interview to F1TV. That behaviour is now getting a tailspin.

Stroll himself was unaware of any wrongdoing afterwards. On Saturday, Stroll again spoke to the press at length and, according to him, was outspoken with his physio. 'It wasn't all that big' according to the Canadian. Within the F1 paddock, though, there are clear question marks about Stroll's future in the sport, and it is assumed that Stroll will make the switch to the WEC.
