From Singapore, Formula 1 teams will have to adhere to new technical guidelines from the FIA. The TD018 should make teams' front and rear wings less flexible and the TD039 will also be tightened. This one was about floor flexibility. Auto, Motor und Sport (AMuS) reports that Red Bull Racing may well be hit by the latter.

New FIA guidelines

On 30 August, it was announced that the FIA will adopt new technical guidelines. They will be introduced at the Singapore Grand Prix, which will be held this weekend. These involve the flexibility of the front and rear wings of F1 cars. The technical guideline introduced in Belgium last year, the TD019, will also be further tightened. This deals precisely with the flexibility of the car's floor, a hugely important component for the overall performance of the current generation of F1 cars.

'Red Bull and Mercedes hit'

The usually well-informed AMuS reports that Mercedes will be hit at the rear of the car, i.e. the rear wing was moving too much. Red Bull, on the other hand, will have to adjust the floor. Both rumours have not been confirmed. Haas did already report that the rear wing needed to be strengthened, and at Williams the focus is precisely on the floor. Aston Martin is said to have already made adjustments to an overly flexible front wing.
