Ricciardo praises Verstappen property: 'I admire him for that'
- Toby McLuskie
The currently injured Daniel Ricciardo was not in action at the race at Zandvoort and all weekend at Monza, as the Australian broke his metacarpal. The AlphaTauri driver is unlikely to race in Singapore though given the taxing circuit. What is less taxing is joining a podcast. Ricciardo talks about his relationship with Max Verstappen and what it is like to have him as a teammate.
Verstappen and Ricciardo were teammates at Red Bull Racing for two and a half years. The 34-year-old driver from Perth explains what he likes about the Dutchman: "We always had a pretty good time when we were teammates together and had a laugh, but I think even more so in the last few years we've got on really well and I think as well," he tells the Talking Bull podcast.

"I admire Max for, let's say, always his approach to racing, but also after the success he's had, particularly the last few years, his kind of unchanged personality, mindset, whatever, he hasn't really been affected by the success," the AlphaTauri driver continued.
Ricciardo is the replacement in the current Formula 1 season for Nyck de Vries, who was recently sacked for underperformance. Given that Ricciardo is injured, Red Bull junior Liam Lawson will drive on weekends when the Australian is not yet fit.
