Max Verstappen does not see himself stopping racing in motorsport at an early age. The Dutchman announced on 3 March 2022 that he will stay with Red Bull Racing until 2028. Speaking to Bloomberg Television, the Dutch Formula 1 world champion talks about his future plans within the king class of motorsport.

"For me, I think stopping at 28 is probably a bit too early," says Verstappen when asked about his plans in Formula 1. In his question, the interviewer referred to another icon in Dutch sports history, Marco van Basten. The former top football player stopped (due to injuries) at the age of 28.

Verstappen continues: "I never really targeted records. I enjoy what I'm doing now. This is not boring, this is exciting. I am very motivated to get to the track. I think it's more when you're not winning anymore and have no plan in place or a future where you see yourself winning again. Then you get bored," says the reigning world champion.

The third world title seems to be only a matter of time for the Dutchman. With a 138-point lead over teammate Perez, the gap to the number two is huge. The next constructors' title for Red Bull Racing is also unlikely to last long. There, the Austrian team has a 285-point lead over Mercedes.
