No Stroll, but Drugovich in FP1 at Monza: 'Learning more about the AMR23'
- Toby McLuskie
Not Lance Stroll, but Felipe Drugovich will get behind the wheel of the Aston Martin in the first free practice for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. The Brazilian is delighted with the chance to drive the car in FP1. He looks ahead to his role during the first practice session on Friday.
Drugovich: 'Great opportunity'
"Hard, Medium and Soft tyres must be used in Qualifying on Saturday – which means we have fewer sets of tyres available for practice sessions," Drugovich said. "It's therefore likely that I'll spend a long time on one set of tyres in FP1, but it's still a great opportunity for me to learn," concludes the Brazilian.
It is not the first time Drugovich has driven at Monza: "It's great to have the opportunity to get back behind the wheel of the AMR23 this weekend at the venue where I secured my F2 title last year," says the 2022 Formula 2 champion. Drugovich has already done testing this year at tracks such as Silverstone, Barcelona and the Red Bull Ring, among others.
