Ferrari gets new chance at Monza: 'Gaps behind Red Bull are small'
- Toby McLuskie
Next weekend, another chance for good results awaits Ferrari. The Italian Scuderia will then drive its home Grand Prix in front of the frenzied Tifosi at Monza. Given his elimination in the Netherlands, it is the perfect way for Charles Leclerc to come back well in his team's home race. Team boss Frederic Vasseur looks ahead.
Vasseur must give Sainz and Leclerc 'good car'
The Ferrari team boss hopes to give his two drivers a good SF-23: "Charles and Carlos [Sainz] are two of the best drivers in the world and we owe it to them to give them the means to express their talent. Behind the Red Bulls, the gaps are very small, and the smallest detail can make the difference. We will do our utmost!"
"To achieve our goals, we will have to put emotion to one side and focus on executing the weekend to the best of our ability, from the first lap of free practice to the last one in the race. We saw in Belgium, that on some types of track, the SF-23 is competitive. We will have to do everything to perfection," the Frenchman concluded.
Sainz could credit 10 points (and the only one on behalf of Ferrari) in the world championship after the Dutch Grand Prix, as the Spaniard finished fifth at Zandvoort. Ferrari has already entered the Grand Prix in northern Italy 73 times, winning 19 times.
