Will Ferrari's F1 car get better in 2024? 'It will be very different'
- Toby McLuskie
The current Formula 1 season has not quite proved to be Ferrari's hunting ground. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are still too often inconsistent and the car is not anything to write home about either, according to Ferrari aerodynamicist Enrico Cardile. He explains that next season's car is already very important.
"This year has been crucial for us to put a lot of effort into this year's car to better understand where the weakness is coming from and how to do a better job. So we kept developing the car in the wind tunnel since the summer break," Cardile says. "We will bring some other updates in the next races, but now in the wind tunnel, we are fully focused on next year's car," he concludes.

"It will be very different because developing this year's car, we realised that some architectural choices we made were not right. It was constraining the development too much," Cardile explained.
In the first free practice for the Dutch Grand Prix, Robert Shwartzman was allowed to drive Sainz's car. The first two free practice sessions were also pretty colourless for the Italian Scuderia, as they could not compete at the top.
