After Formula 1's summer break, the top racing class will travel to the Dutch coast. On 27 August, the Dutch Grand Prix will be held at Zandvoort. It was party time in the stands at last year's Dutch GP, but there were some blemishes on the Orange party. The organisation is therefore tightening security, according to Director Robert van Overdijk.

During the previous edition of the Dutch Grand Prix, a man from the audience disrupted qualifying by throwing a smoking pot on the track. This was not the only thing, as there were also dozens of reports of cross-border behaviour through misogynistic remarks.

Tighter controls during Dutch Grand Prix

Director Van Overdijk explained that security guards will check even more sharply. "In the end, we do everything we can to make it just one big party. And that includes a lot of fun, but it also includes a good basis of common sense," he told the Algemeen Dagblad.

Besides a hotline, male and female confidants can also be found at the venue. With so many spectators, it is difficult to keep a sharp eye on everything, says Van Overdijk: "With more than a hundred thousand people on a field, you will always have people who just cannot behave."
