Max Verstappen is almost unstoppable on his way to his third world title this year. Former Formula One driver Giancarlo Fisichella would therefore prefer Verstappen in his ideal F1 team and not Lewis Hamilton, his 2021 rival.

Fisichilla himself has had an exciting career in Formula 1. He drove as many as 214 races between 1996 and 2009, of which he won three. Among other things, he was Fernando Alonso's teammate during the Spaniard's years as world champion. In addition, he is still the last Italian to win a Formula 1 race. He did so at the Malaysian Grand Prix in 2006. He ended his career at Ferrari after leaving Force India in 2009 mid-season, where he drove the first 12 races of the season.

Verstappen or Hamilton in ideal team?

So the Italian has since retired for a while and has had a team in the GP2 class, among others. Speaking to Italy's Corriere Della Sera, the former Formula 1 race winner tells whether he would rather choose Verstappen or Hamilton in his ideal team: "Verstappen. Max has something extra and gives the impression of driving with one hand."
