Red Bull mechanic: 'Senna is the best F1 driver of all time'
- Cas van de Kleut
Max Verstappen is having an incredibly good season in Formula 1. Slowly, the Dutchman and his team Red Bull are grabbing several records. According to many, he is already one of the best drivers of all time, but one of his own mechanics chooses another driver as the best.
Last race weekend in Belgium, Verstappen took his eighth win in a row. This means that if the Red Bull driver wins his home race at Zandvoort, he will match Sebastian Vettel in terms of most wins in a row. Earlier this season, the Dutchman and his team already took the record for most wins in a row for a constructor, passing Ayrton Senna in terms of wins.
Not Verstappen, but Senna the best F1 driver
Yet Calum Nicholas, one of Verstappen's mechanics at Red Bull, chooses the Brazilian as the best driver at the Track Limits podcast: "It's a tough one. In terms of just passion and soul, it has to be Senna. I think more so than the number of titles he won, just his believe and his drive. Something I think pretty much all the drivers have now. We all think Senna as an amazing character, he was a ruthless winner, so much to be admired about it."
