Marko unflinching on De Vries situation: 'We make choices where necessary'

AlphaTauri driver Nyck de Vries has already faced a lot of criticism this Formula 1 season. Earlier, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko already showed the 'yellow card' to the Dutch AlphaTauri driver. In an interview with Viaplay, the 80-year-old Austrian talks about the situation De Vries is currently in.

Will De Vries still have the AlphaTauri wheel in his hands during the Dutch Grand Prix? "I can tell you once we are in Zandvoort," Marko said stoically. "We have to look to the future, and at his performance and if necessary, there will be decisions [made]," added the Red Bull man.

"I mean, it is no secret that he didn't deliver what was expected. It's a tough sport," Marko commented on Formula 1.

Nyck de Vries has yet to score any points this Formula 1 season. Along with Logan Sargeant, he is therefore at the bottom of the World Championship standings. Whether the Dutchman will continue to race in Formula 1 for a long time seems to be revealed within a few races.
