Wolff and Domenicali on possible protesters at Britain GP

Protesters may be present at the British Grand Prix. Formula One boss Stefano Domenicali and Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff both have reacted to the possible demonstrating actions during the upcoming race in Silverstone. The two Formula One protagonists do so on Sky Sport in front of 10 Downing Street in London.

Formula 1 becomes more sustainable

The fact that Formula 1 is working hard on the environment should be obvious. In all sorts of facets of the sport, things are being changed so that it is better for sustainability. Wolff thinks that currently so much is already being adapted that protesting makes no sense at all, he explains.

"I think from our side, what needs to be understood is that our industry is trailblazing in sustainability. We have sustainable fuels, and in 2026 it will be 100% sustainable fuels. The technology and innovation of Formula 1 are so important to achieve those emission standards," Wolff said.

"You are putting yourself in danger, and also the drivers, and I can speak for our drivers, for George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, they would not want to have anybody being at risk, whether that's spectators, fans, or themselves. So this is not the place to big risks, you aren't blocking anybody, but you are seriously putting people at harm," Wolff continued.

Domenicali is also relentless. "I think there is a way of showing what you want to do, but this is totally unacceptable, so I really hope that people understand that it is not the place and space to protest. That is pretty clear to me," said the Formula 1 boss.
