Not only Dutch Formula 1 fans could wax lyrical about Max Verstappen's performance again this weekend, but the international press was also very enthusiastic about the Red Bull driver, who is only further extending his lead in the world championship.

BILD

"Verstappen celebrates fifth win in a row. Red Bull races to home victory," German newspaper BILD.de headlines. "What is new is that for once, between lap 25 and lap 35, Verstappen was not leading," the paper writes of an 'überdominant' Verstappen. "Totally awesome: the Dutchman made another pit stop two laps before the end to set the fastest race lap on fresh tyres, which would earn him an extra point," BILD continued.

La Gazetta Dello Sport

Not only does the German platform cite the reigning world champion's extra pit stop, but also La Gazzetta Dello Sport: "He even stopped with two laps to go to put the soft tyres on and take the point for the fastest lap of the race!" The Italian newspaper sees the Dutchman earning another 26 points in the world championship. "Outstanding Verstappen, a driver who literally does everything he wants with this Red Bull in his hands," writes La Gazzetta.

The Sun

"Max Verstappen increased his mammoth lead at the top of the drivers' standings with a perfect weekend in Austria!", wrote Britain's The Sun at the beginning of their racing article. "Christian Horner will be pleased with his drivers' performance today, as they occupied two of the three podium places. Max Verstappen continues to dominate the F1 season," the newspaper continued.

Marca

Spain's Marca already dares to look beyond victory. "Max Verstappen continued his solo assault on a third Formula One drivers' championship with a perfect weekend in Austria," writes the Spanish newspaper. In the headline of the article, the platform also focuses on Sergio Perez. "Verstappen books another victory in Austria while Perez recovers with a podium finish," Marca headlines.

L'equipe

"In a GP marked by penalties for exceeding the limits, Max Verstappen gave another demonstration at the Red Bull Ring and won for the fifth time in a row," wrote L' Equipe. Like the BILD, handing over the lead in the race was a unique moment for the French medium. "After his pole start, the Dutchman briefly handed the lead off to Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, a rare event, before regaining the lead and winning comfortably."
