Terrible news from Spa: Dilano van 't Hoff (18) died after crash

Terrible news on Saturday afternoon. Dilano van 't Hoff died after crashing in a race at Spa-Francorchamps as part of the Formula Regional European Championship. The 18-year-old driver of MP Motorsport lost control on Kemmel Straight in the rain and was hit by another driver.

In a race with a huge amount of spray, van 't Hoff spun and was hit by Adam Fitzgerald who was driving at full speed. Help was unfortunately of no avail for the driver, who would have turned 19 years old in just under a month.

The terrible crash follows four years after Anthoine Hubert was killed during a Formula 2 race. At the time, the Frenchman crashed at roughly the same spot on the Belgian circuit in the Ardennes.
