Red Bull Racing have seven wins in as many Grands Prix, with the Austrian racing stable being pretty dominant throughout this 2023 season, especially on Sundays. Therefore, this raises the question of whether Red Bull should not be inhibited to try and create more competition in Formula 1. Max Verstappen would consider that a bad thing.

Stefano Domenicali expressed his views on the subject last week. The sporting director of Liberty Media, the owner of Formula 1, has no intention of taking such measures, something that does happen in the WEC championship. "I think it is not fair to say that. It's not correct because we cannot be seen as part of manipulation. This is not correct, and this is not fair. I am not [imagining] at all this kind of approach," the Italian said.

Hard work should be rewarded

Verstappen agrees with Domenicali's view, with the Red Bull Racing driver believing that you should also be able to respect a team's good performance. After all, he did the same when Mercedes ruled Formula 1 for years.

"It's all about hard work and you have to appreciate that. I also found it hugely impressive what they achieved during that period. I never felt they needed to be slowed down. For us it was mainly about working hard and closing the gap,". Verstappen was quoted by Motorsport.com at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
