After the Monaco Grand Prix, Red Bull's dominance was again shown in Spain. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez also trailed the competition in Barcelona. Verstappen's 1:14.606 was good for the fastest time. Nyck de Vries was also very convincing with his fourth time.

Verstappen started his weekend in Spain well, as he spent almost the entire hour at the top of the timesheet. Together with fellow Perez, the two Red Bull drivers were unbeatable on red tyres. Verstappen was seven tenths faster than the Mexican. Ferrari and Mercedes were very disappointing with their lap times.

AlphaTauri driver De Vries also showed his best side. The Dutchman recorded some strong times on the yellow tyres, but also on the red ones. De Vries will want to convince Helmut Marko this weekend. With his 1:15.504, the Dutchman was fast enough for a place among the first five. De Vries finished in fourth place.
