Nyck de Vries is under pressure ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix. The 28-year-old driver is having a difficult start to his rookie season in Formula 1, but, for now, the Dutchman driving for AlphaTauri is not worried himself.

The former Formula 2 champion has struggled in the premier class of motorsport so far. His teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, is often a lot faster, with the Dutchman's performances also overshadowed by crashes.

Rumours not read

According to rumours, Helmut Marko would want progression up to and including the Spanish Grand Prix. Otherwise, Daniel Ricciardo would possibly replace him at Red Bull's Italian sister team.

The Dutchman himself has not caught much of the rumours, telling Motorsport-total.com: "I try not to watch media on race weekends and around because it doesn't really help me. I've noticed some things through the news that has been sent to me, but I haven't read anything myself."

'I always have to perform'

Despite these rumours, the AlphaTauri driver feels safe with his team for now. "It's not a shock for me that it's the way it is now, because that's the business, and that's the way it's always been at Red Bull and in Formula 1. I honestly believe it's different to the way it was at the beginning of the season. You always have to perform, deliver and that's how it's always been throughout my career."
